Allen R. Hall is a composer, performer, and artist in New Orleans, LA who writes and performs in many mediums. His works have been performed far across southeast America including featured premieres, 2012 & 2013 LaTex Electro-Acoustic Music Festivals, and as incidental music for numerous plays and dramas. Allen performs primarily as a percussionist having played with the New Fangled Opera Company, the Maenad Movement Theatre, NOVO, and many others. Allen serves in many positions amongst which are:
- Lunchtime Orchestra, director and conductor
- Modern Instincts Magazine, executive director
- Modern Instincts Opera Company, executive and music director
- The Giant Peach Orchestra, conductor
Allen holds a B.A. in Music Composition from Loyola University New Orleans. He has studied composition with Dr. Jimbo Walsh, and Dr. William Horne. He has studied percussion with famed timpanist Jim Atwood as well as Dave Salay; both currently with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. Allen recently performed in collaboration with internationally recognized Jed Speare and was also selected for the 2014 CBDNA Louisiana Intercollegiate Honor Band.
